I want to fit a heavy duty bumper to my project in time to come but I don't know what is acceptable to be fitted here?

Can I fit one like the one seen on this Discovery?

New bullbars should be safe for pedestrians and the ARB model is for sure not.
If there is not already an indication on your 'keuringsbewijs' that your car is/was equiped with a bullbar, then I would just go for a normal winch bumper

Bullbars are forbidden sinds May 25, 2007, following European rules...

It is even forbidden to sell non-approved bullbars since that dat, so you will have a hard time to find a new one.

Only cars having a bullbar before that date are allowed to have one fitted. This is stated on the car inspection.

Retrofitting on a car dating from befor that date not having one is also not allowed, but you can give it a try. No guts, no glory.
But fitting a shiny new one on a beaten up car won't go, forget that...

Where and what do I look for on the papers for with regards bullbar?

By the time I have finished with this one you would think it had just rolled off the production line!!

Wat maakt de taal nu uit wanneer we een collega Land-Rover fanaat kunnen helpen om zijn doel te verwezenlijken ?

Die man doet echt wel zijn best om indien mogelijk, zelfs al is dat met Google vertaald, in onze taal te schrijven.
En ja, soms is dat latig om lezen want ons taaltje is nu eenmaal niet makkelijk.

Well just a quick script update just for you Mr. glObetrotter,

I am an Englishman, and I live and work in Belgium and have done so for more than 2 years, I am a fellow Land Rover owner and an enthusiast of the Marque!!!

I have owned many Land Rovers, 4 Range Rover classics, 3 series 111s, 2 Discoveries, and a 110 Defender, I have many electrical and mechanical skills as can be seen by one of my projects on this very forum, see here to see what I am up to with my current vehicle.

Please don't be so narrow minded and allow language to be a barrier in a world full of hate, we all have a common interest that brings us together in this forum and that is Land Rovers, I have seen the best of Belgians and also the worst of Belgians in my time here, I would like think we can come together and help one another without prejudice, I try my hardest to learn but Dutch is not so easy for a mid thirties guy and as my work is mainly as a solo operator there are few opportunities to actively engage in learning a language but I can order my dinner in the chip shop without pointing now so must be getting better, or they are just getting used to me?

Good question.
I drive every year with a huge bull-bar to the gamble-house (technische controle) and never had any remark on it.
(I had plenty of remarks on anything else and it is each year something else
My Def is dated 1990, so my guess is that they accept if for vehicles dated from before this legislation.
I know they do make some notes on their computers but I wasn't aware it would include these kind of things.
Anyway as said before you'll just have to try them out but even then it's not sure you will pass the year after with it.

een vraagje,
stel die bull bar staat er al jaren op (A-bar) maar het staat niet op je keurings bewijs. wat is dan het beste om te doen? want ik zou niet willen dat ze achter een jaar of 2 zeggen uhh dat staat er niet op dus moet er vanaf.

Geen idee hoe het zit als het keuringsbewijs 'blanco' is wat dat aangaande..

Als ik mijn identificatieverslag/kentekenbewijs van mijn RHD 110 erbij pak staat daar enkel dit op: Landrover, bouwjr. 2001 + chassis.nr. en héél veel streepjes en nulletjes.. gaat tot nu toe goed bij de TC
